Recipes
Introducing barbecue sauce to your kids:
Take your favorite tomato base barbecue sauce and mix in enough simple ketchup to reduce the spice/heat and slowly over time as the kids get use to spices start reducing the ketchup.
Add a little something:
If you are one those people who really like certain spices and can't get enough of it, follow these simple steps on how to add a touch of your favorite spice(s) to "Roxy" barbecue sauce.
Take away 2 tbsp of sauce out of your bottle and replace it with any of your favorite spice or any combination of spices. Start with a little bit first and add more if you wish.
These 8 add-on variations are some I have had great success with over the past few years, some of these in competition.
(1)
1 tsp crushed celery seeds
or
(2)
1 tbsp cumin and 1/2 tsp coriander
or
(3)
1/2 onion powder
or
(4)
1/4 to half tsp cayenne for extra heat
or
(5)
1 tbsp smoked paprika for an extra smoky taste
or
(6)
1 tsp ginger
or
(7)
2 tbsp brown sugar
or
(8)
2 tbsp molasse
There are endless possibilities! Send us your favorite spices combination and we will post it for other people to try it out giving you the credit or course...
